Join the Church founded by Christ
Become a Catholic
At St. Stephen the First Martyr, we host a catechesis series annually to give instruction to adults in varying situations: those that have never been baptized, those that were baptized Protestant seeking full union with the Church, and those baptized Catholic who never completed their Sacraments of Initiation.
The class begins every year on the second Thursday of August, and typically meets every other Thursday at 7 pm, in our parish hall. Each lecture is delivered by one of the priests of the parish and lasts one and a half hours (until 8:30 pm). During the lecture, parish volunteers provide hospitality with light snacks and beverages. Each of the candidates is afforded the opportunity to sit down privately with one of the priests during the preparation process.
We do provide alternative solutions for those who cannot make the Thursday classes. Also, those expressing interest in the faith when the class is already underway can be brought up to speed by means of recordings and supplementary materials.
Anyone is welcome to join the class; fully initiated Catholics or those who are simply curious need not register.

Question & Answer
We generally bring converts into the Church on the Vigil of Easter (April 4, 2026) and, under certain circumstances, the Vigil of Pentecost (May 23, 2026). Those baptized Catholics are usually given Confirmation by the bishop when he comes to administer the Sacrament to all our parishioners.
